Women vs. Grilling

Me and my grill have never gotten along. It sees me coming and decides right then and there to NOT cooperate.

Charcoal grilled meat - YUM!

I have tried everything. Then my husband comes along, and everything is peachy... it starts right up and ready to cook, even though I did the exact same thing he did. WHY? This does nothing for the confidence!

But there is a happy ending to this story.

No, don't read me wrong, I still don't try to actually cook anything on it, I leave that strictly to the hubby and keep my own cooking in the kitchen.

We recently discovered TRULite Premium Grill Starters. A-ha! I won. Now when my husband is leaving work a little late and theres some nice piece of meat marinating in the fridge waiting to be a juicy delicious addition to the meal, I can just stick one little TRULite into a pile of charcoal, touch - and literally touch- a click lighter to it, pile a few pieces of charcoal around it, and walk away. No joke. It starts without a complaint and is raring to go by the time he is home.

Never ever in my life have I been able to properly start a charcoal grill before now. Go TRULite! Win for me, and one down for the stubborn grill! HA!
